MINUTE entry before the Honorable Joan H. Lefkow: Plaintiff Wumei Lin requests permission to serve process on the defendants listed on Schedule A of the complaint. Plaintiff declares that he has obtained the mailing addresses the defendants provided to the TikTok platform, that the addresses were at times multiple or inconsistent, and that plaintiff could not locate any of the addresses on the Chinese mapping service Baidu or on Google Maps. Plaintiff asserts that service of process according to the Hague Convention is impracticable and less likely to reach the defendants than electronic service on the online marketplace websites for each defendant. The court finds that plaintiff has exercised reasonable diligence to locate mailing addresses suitable for service under the Hague Convention and that the Hague Convention does not apply for these defendants. The motion is granted. Per notice of dismissal under Rule 41(a)(1) Defendant Number 3, 5, 8, 9, 10 and 12 are dismissed with prejudice. Mailed notice.
